Home/chadder cheese
  • Cheddar cheese, commonly known as cheddar, is a relatively hard, off-white, sometimes sharp-tasting, natural cheese. Cheddar cheese is often served in sandwiches with luncheon meat, in open or closed-faced grilled cheese sandwiches, as an appetizer or snack with meats, fruit and breads, as a dessert cheese with pie, or as an ingredient in a variety of cooked dishes and baked goods.
  • A cheeseburger is a hamburger topped with cheese. Traditionally, the slice of cheese is placed on top of the meat patty. The cheese is usually added to the cooking hamburger patty shortly before serving, which allows the cheese to melt.
  • Other low-fat cheeses include parmesan, feta, and goat's cheese, and low-fat cream cheese. Many cheeses are now available in “lite” versions, such as cheddar, brie, havarti, and feta. Check the nutritional information, because some reduced-fat cheeses have added sodium.
