Mozzarella is relatively low in fat and calories. This makes it a healthier cheese option compared to others. Mozzarella contains probiotics such as the bacteria Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus fermentum.
  • A cheeseburger is a hamburger topped with cheese. Traditionally, the slice of cheese is placed on top of the meat patty. The cheese is usually added to the cooking hamburger patty shortly before serving, which allows the cheese to melt.
  • Other low-fat cheeses include parmesan, feta, and goat's cheese, and low-fat cream cheese. Many cheeses are now available in “lite” versions, such as cheddar, brie, havarti, and feta. Check the nutritional information, because some reduced-fat cheeses have added sodium.
